In the realm of Reggio-inspired programs, children are presented with thoughtfully crafted provocations, designed to ignite their curiosity and spark inspired action. Similarly, in An Intuitive Living Practice, I like to refer to these offerings as invitations. These invitations serve as gentle prompts that beckon children to tune in, listen to their inner guidance, and respond authentically. They create a safe and nurturing space for self-expression, allowing children to discover their unique gifts and passions as they embrace the joy of learning and growth.  These invitations include the following components: loose parts, beautifully displayed, an abundance, a blend of old and new, distraction free and freedom of choice.

LOOSE PARTS:

As parents, we can set up invitations that incorporate the concept of "loose parts" from the Reggio Emilia approach. These invitations involve offering materials or elements separately, allowing children (or ourselves when practicing our own invitations) the freedom to choose, explore, and take inspired action. For instance, a breakfast invitation might consist of a plate of waffles, bowls of strawberries, blueberries, sliced bananas, chocolate chips, syrup, yogurt, and a separate bowl of walnuts. By separating the components, we empower children or individuals to exercise their autonomy and make choices based on their own preferences and desires

BEAUTIFULLY DISPLAYED:

As we set up these invitations, we embrace the art of beauty and inspiration. The materials we offer are thoughtfully displayed, capturing our hearts and calling us closer. A charming plate with three sections becomes a canvas for a vibrant array of fruits, enticing us to touch, taste, and play. The visual appeal ignites our curiosity, creating an atmosphere where the invitation becomes irresistible, allowing us to indulge in the joy of exploration and self-expression

When we enter a store or restaurant, we are greeted by an atmosphere of invitation. As we step inside, we are captivated by the carefully curated display of loose parts—whether it's delectable food, captivating books, or enticing supplies—all thoughtfully separated and beautifully showcased, beckoning us to explore.
